Case Management Program


The Haven’s Case Management Program enables clients to set short term goals and make a plan to achieve those goals while in the shelter.


The Case Manager:

-Meets with clients at least once a week

-Helps clients with job search

-Helps client secure housing once they leave the shelter

-Helps client with finances, budgeting, parenting skills, life skills, etc.

Legal Advocacy Program


The Legal Advocacy Program offers:

  • Crisis Intervention

  • IMMEDIATE assistance filling out and filing a Petition for Temporary Protective Order

  • Step-by-step guidance through the judicial system

  • Assistance scheduling a hearing time to appear before the Judge to request a Temporary Protective Order

  • Attending TPO hearings before the Judge with the client

  • Assurance that all executed Temporary Protective Orders are properly filed with Clerk of Court and Sheriff’s Office.

  • Information and referral to appropriate agencies and/or prograns,

  • Community Education

  • Accompaniment  victims in court appearances

  • Helps get victims a Temporary Protective Order against batterer

  • Walks victims through the legal process

  • Makes referrals for attorneys if needed

Children’s Program


Our Children’s Advocacy Program works with young victims of Domestic Violence.

The Children’s Advocate:

  • Advocates for children on behalf of The Haven

  • holds support groups of all kinds, including self-esteem, anger, feelings, good touch/ badtouch, peer pressure and more.

  • takes children on field trips

  • leads fun activities such as arts & crafts, board games, and baking for kids

  • helps children register for school

  • aids the child in transition to his or her new lifestyle

  • offers other fun and educational activities

  • organizes Kid’s Festivals throughout the year

Outreach Program


Outreach services provide prevention, intervention and follow-up services as another option for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Since Outreach services can be provided before the situation has reached crisis level, the risk of serious injury to a woman or her children may be reduced. In addition, a woman transitioning out of safe shelter often requires ongoing support and assistance in order to maintain a violence-free lifestyle.

Our Outreach Advocate:

  • Works with Department of Family and Children Services

  • Aids victims in getting Medicaid, TANF, and food stamps

  • Works as a link between victim and DFCS (includes coordinating CPS case plans)
